Spiritual Growth
Worship
You can visit Jefferson UMC in a three-piece suit or a sweatshirt with three holes. We don’t care. We do, however, have a few suggestions about safety. It is frequently the case that the Holy Spirit makes a ruckus in our sanctuary. We, therefore, recommend you heed Annie Dillard’s advice about wearing a crash helmet and strapping yourself to the pew. It might be necessary!
Worship, the single most important thing we do as Christians, is rooted in the deep belief that there’s a “right-hereness” to God’s presence. The consequences of God’s immediacy unfold in worship through the song and dance of the liturgical calendar, the warmth of fellowship, the uproar of unplanned laughter, and the bulldozing effect of God’s Word read and proclaimed.
Small Group Study
The church is located on the corner of East Main Street and North Main Street. It is also accessible by Court Street. Parking is available in front of the church facing East Main Street and behind the church facing Court Street.
Children
As more younger families are becoming members and friends of our congregation, our children’s programming is expanding. The ever-teeming children bursting through hallways, saying crazy things during children’s time, and serve as role models for adults by always asking, “why,” our Children’s Ministry is growing and becoming more central to our congregation’s ministries.
